To be completely honest with you stratosmacca by the moment you read this, the idea of Gandalf vs Albus Dumbledore (believe it or not) is actually a huge mismatch, both to begin with and to end with...

Here's why: Even before Harry Potter came to being (which actually happens to be a fantasy wizard version of Star Wars as both the franchises have a lot in common for different reasons), there was Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, which first came to being back in August of 1987 which is like almost 30 years from now, there is one person from within Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting who in fact serves as the Ultimate Imitator & True Rival to Gandalf since then... Elminster Aumar.

To simply put, Gandalf & Elminster Aumar had this going since August of 1987 and still do even now since both have a lot in common for different reasons, which makes the idea of Gandalf vs Albus Dumbledore a "null & void" attempt.
