Switching gears for a bit... The Gold Ranger from Power Rangers Zeo, with his zord Pyramidas. While Zeo is one of my least favorite PR series, this costume is my favorite of any Ranger thus far.

The Zeo season sucked for me because Billy was always my favorite Ranger. Jason was my least favorite of the original crew (though I admit he made a far better Red Ranger than Rocky). I was bummed when Billy gave up his Zeo powers to take on a "helper" role in the Command Center, but I was super psyched and excited when the Gold Ranger showed up and Billy was all set to take over the Golden Powers...

Then we were given some stupid, lame ass reason as to why Billy couldn't accept the powers, and who did they bring in to replace him? Jason! You can imagine how well I took that news. I am still bitter. Billy earned those powers.

So yeah, the Zeo season sucked. But in my picture above, the Gold Ranger is Billy. So there.

I know his costume isn't 100% right, but I'm not all that bothered. This was just something I did for fun because I wanted to cheer myself up this morning. So there you go-- my last drawing for 2008.

The alternative before Jason, was "Ryan Steele" from V.R Troopers.

The evidence for this is the fact that in the Gold Ranger's first appearance, he had teh voice of Ryan Steele.

Why they had to use that whole "Trey of Triforia" b.s, I'm not sure...
:iconstratosmacca:
If it was someone different (like Ryan Steele) I probably would have handled it better. But let's face it, either way Billy would have gotten the shaft. I wouldn't have been happy either way.

Also, the idea of Billy being a Ranger with a power he made with spare pieces and energies from the power coins, and Zeo crystal shards, seemes very plausible to me...

Zordon: Billy, please be advised, I do not know how dangerous this power may be...
Billy: Sometimes being a Power Ranger means we gotta take risks...
:iconsonic8005:
I'm surprised how they made an episode where Rocky felt like a fifth wheel, yet Billy was already doing so... I mean, heck, Zordon and Alpha were always doing all the Command Center work...

I was joyous when Jason returned!

A spaceship pyramid, man that takes me back. I thought his Gold Rush attack was cool.

Oh, man, I used to love Power Rangers! My brother, too--we'd be sitting in front of the television all starry-eyed and my parents would be groaning in the background... :D

Yeah, I know most people were.

Actually, drawing this picture made me remember a comic I created when I was younger and saw the Zeo series...

In it, Billy was able to accept the Golden Powers, but Tommy still returned with Jason (as in the show). So they kicked Rocky off the team and Jason became the new Blue Zeo Ranger. Ahh, memories!

Yeah, he was awesome. I was hardcore into Power Rangers back then.

Haha, that sounds like me now! I still watch PR, and my parents always groan whenever I bring it up. But at least I can connect with my little cousins (who also watch PR) at family gatherings this way :D
