Finally managed to finish the colors for this one. It depicts Hiei, my favorite character in the Yu Yu Hakusho anime series. He's pictured here with his twin sister Yukina, an ice apparition of the Koorime clan whose tears become gems.

Hiei was known to their clan as "The Forbidden One" because he was never supposed to exist-- he was born to an ice maiden, part of an all-female race. He was born male because his mother met and "interacted" with a male demon outside her isolationist Koorime community, which led to Hiei being cast out as an infant. Unknown to the clan, Hiei survived their death sentence and was raised by bandits. He and his twin sister were each given one of their mother's tears at birth, which they wore as necklaces.

Hiei began a long search for his sister after finding that his mother had taken her own life shortly after his "death." But even when he finally found Yukina, he swore never to reveal his identity to her, serving as her silent protector instead. In the anime, at least, Yukina knows that her brother is alive, but is still unaware that Hiei is her long lost twin.
